What is PAN & TAN ?

PAN (Permanent Account Number) is a 10-digit alphanumeric identifier issued by the Income Tax Department for individuals and entities to track financial transactions and tax filings.
TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number) is mandatory for businesses and entities that deduct or collect tax at source (TDS/TCS). TAN is required for filing TDS returns, challans, and certificates.

Process of PAN/TAN Application

Step 1: Select Application Type

Choose whether you're applying for PAN (Permanent Account Number) or TAN (Tax Deduction & Collection Account Number).

Step 2: Collect Documents

Gather required identity, address, and business proof documents as per entity type.

Step 3: Application Preparation

Step 5: Acknowledgment Receipt

Documents Required for PAN/TAN Application

1. Identity Proof

Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License for individuals.

2. Address Proof

Utility bill, Aadhaar, Passport, or bank statement (not older than 3 months).

3. Passport-size Photograph

For individuals/sole proprietors – recent color photo with white background.

4. Incorporation/Registration Certificate

For Companies, LLPs, Firms – certificate from ROC or deed copy.

5. Authorized Signatory ID

PAN and Aadhaar of authorized signatory (Director, Partner, Trustee, etc.).

6. Office Address Proof

Electricity bill, rent agreement, or property papers for business address.
